Mazda Bike by KODO Concept

Mazda Bike by KODO Concept

KODO’ is the term that Mazda uses for its design philosophy, which refers to the dynamic poise of a figure before it jumps into motion. It’s with this ethos that the Japanese brand has released publicly adored silhouettes, from the ubiquitous Mazda 6 to more conceptual models like 2010′s Shinari. Here we find the brand taking a different road, as it were, expressing this design language via a new bicycle. The Mazda ‘Bike by KODO’ concept explores two integral Mazda ideas – “RIN,” a sense of self-restrained dignity; and “EN,” an attractive sensuality – with a minimally-constructed track racer. The bicycle was meticulously crafted from a single sheet of steel, while the leather saddle harkens back to Mazda’s MX-5 sport coupe. Considering the bike was released as a part of the brand’s “Mazda Design: The Car as Art” exhibition in Milan, we don’t imagine it’ll hit a velodrome near us anytime soon – but at least it’s nice to look at.

$4 Million Lamborghini Veneno

Not very many of us have $4 million dollars lying around to purchase a high end vehicle but this guy does. He goes by the name of Kris Singh and he owns one of the two Lamborghini Veneno’s in the United States. If you’re not familiar with the Veneno, it is a historical gem of the Lamborghini’s line up and is a highly limited production supercar. Based on its predecessor, the Aventador, the Veneno was produced in 2013 to celebrate Lamborghini’s 50th Anniversary and only 3 of them in the world were made, which may explain its exorbitant price. Kris Singh, an American businessman and a car collector, is one of the few lucky people to be able to afford such an extravagant vehicle. With a net worth of $200 million, $4 million for a vehicle isn’t that much money to Singh. Before he purchased it, he didn’t even know what it looked like and blindly bought the highly respected Veneno. This vehicle features a 6.5 liter V-12 engine, 740 horsepower, and a top speed of 221 mph

Koenigsegg Agera RS

Koenigsegg Agera RS

Koenigsegg has officially revealed the Agera RS at the Geneva Motor Show. The latest evolution of the model packs the same 5.0L twin-turbo V8 as the previous versions, but here with an impressive 1,160 horsepower. In addition to the extra boost, the RS has gotten an extensive external makeover as well, with the addition of a front splitter, front winglets, side skirts, underbody and active rear spoiler, and composite construction in the chassis and body that make this model lighter than any of its predecessors. Despite being engineered mainly for the track, the vehicle can actually be registered for road use worldwide, meaning that the Agera RS might be one of the fastest cars to ever hit the streets. Unfortunately, the likelihood of us ever seeing one on the road is slim: Koenigsegg only has plans to make 25 of them, and 10 were already pre-sold before even making its debut.

Leap Luxury Commuter Bus

A new commuting company out of San Francisco is looking to change the face of public transportation by offering up a luxury bus service for those willing to fork up a higher fee. Leap has taken a standard city bus and outfitted it with various upgrades focused on comfort and productivity, including upgraded seating and a laptop bar fitted with USB charger outlets and free WiFi. Leap has also partnered with local organic food suppliers in order to provide healthy snacks for those who may have had to skip breakfast. Tickets run $6 per trip, or $5 if purchased in bulk, which is several times the cost of a regular city bus ticket, but well within the budget of San Francisco’s thriving young professional population. Tickets can be purchased through Leap’s free app, which also conveniently allows riders to check the status of their trip, including how many seats are available on each vehicle and the approximate arrival time of the next bus.
